The lead character Samantha is played by Jocelin Donahue who tries to earn money to finance herself a new apartment. As Samantha has to suffer under a very messy nymphomaniac roommate who looks like an unwashed scruffy dog (no, it's not the "new pop sensation" Kesha, although it would fit) the audience can understand her urgent attempt in doing any job to get the hell out of there! But I don't want to give to much away, let's wrap it up by saying that she gets a "babbysitter" job that turns out to be far more consuming than she thought...
Jocelin Donahue does a great job, although she plays mostly by herself (not in the dirty way kiddies!). The fact that she looks like the young Jessica Harper from "Suspria" makes me love her even more!
So we have likeable characters (yes it is possible for a horror movie to have those, I'm looking at you again Micheal Bay), a great setting, great soundtrack and a lot of references to 70's horror movies from "When a Strange calls" to "Halloween".
I say: Let's go and see it!
And that's how Lady in Lavender sees it!
